# 6 Reasons to invest in warranties for your devices

### Does your organisation invest in warranties to cover your IT equipment like laptops and PCs? There are strong financial and productivity reasons why it is a good idea to – especially if your devices are getting on a bit. The Grant McGregor team considers why.
Here are some of the reason why investing in extended warranties for laptops and PCs with Grant McGregor can be a smart move.
### #1. Extend the manufacturer’s warranty
Most manufacturers provide a standard one-year limited warranty that protects you from the costs associated with any manufacturing defects, for example relating to materials or workmanship. However, these typically extend for 12 months, meaning you aren’t covered after the first year.
Choosing an extended warranty with Grant McGregor not only gives you the ability to extend this coverage over a longer period, it will also ensure you are able to make unlimited manufacturer’s defect claims throughout the terms of the agreement.
### #2. Advanced exchange
Under our warranties, if there is an issue with a covered laptop or PC, we’ll arrange for a replacement device to be shipped to your IT team or the user immediately. Instead of waiting for repairs to be carried out, your users can get straight back to work.
This helps to reduce the impact of lost productivity when a device goes wrong. In turn, this helps to reduce the stress for your team and prevents any problems from impacting your customers.
### #3. Reduce the financial cost of repairs
PC and laptop repairs can be expensive. Device replacements are very expensive. This leaves you financially exposed once the standard warranty expires.
By extending your warranty coverage with Grant McGregor, you can eliminate this financial uncertainty.
A warranty will simply be a low, agreed monthly fee, which gives you certainty over the cost and performance of your IT estate. You won’t ever need to unexpectedly find the funds to cover unanticipated repair costs resulting from component failures or general wear and tear.

Our warranties can be purchased any time. There is no financial penalty if you have let a warranty lapse. We won’t charge you a reinstatement fee.
