Strengthen your technology company's cyber resilience with Cyber Essentials certification. Learn how to secure funding, reduce cyber risks and protect sensitive data today.
Cyber Security is more critical than ever, particularly for technology companies handling sensitive data and providing digital services. Cyber threats are evolving rapidly and organisations of all sizes are at risk. Achieving Cyber Essentials certification is a proactive step to safeguard your business, build trust with clients and ensure compliance with industry best practices. It also provides a clear framework to strengthen your security posture and protect against common cyber risks.
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed certification that helps businesses protect themselves against common cyber threats, such as phishing, malware and hacking attempts. By implementing the five key security controls outlined in the Cyber Essentials scheme, your organisation can:
Reduce the risk of cyberattacks
Demonstrate a commitment to cybersecurity to customers, partners and stakeholders
Enhance eligibility for certain government and private sector contracts
Improve internal cybersecurity awareness and best practices
Meet legal and regulatory cybersecurity requirements
Technology businesses are prime targets for cybercriminals due to the nature of their operations.
A security breach can lead to severe consequences, including financial loss, reputational damage, legal penalties and operational disruption.
Cyber Essentials certification provides an affordable and effective way to mitigate these risks and protect your organisation’s digital assets.
If you’re unsure where to begin, the Cyber Essentials Readiness Tool is designed to help you assess your current cyber security posture and guide you on your journey to certification.
To support technology businesses in strengthening their cybersecurity, ScotlandIS, in partnership with the Scottish Government, Technology Scotland, CeeD, and The National Robotarium, has launched a Cyber Essentials Funding initiative.
