# Why you should be using Axcient x360Cloud: Quick Q&A
Grant McGregor Team
5 October 2020 • 4 min read
# Grant McGregor has teamed up with Axcient to offer our customers a new way to protect their data in the cloud, including in Microsoft365 applications. Here, we answer your questions about this new solution.
If you don’t find the answers you need here, please reach out to our team. The Grant McGregor team is ready to assist with all your cloud queries, just [give us a call or drop us an email](https://www.grantmcgregor.co.uk/contact-us/).
### What is Axcient x360Cloud?
Axcient x360Cloud is a piece of software that helps you to backup and restore your data in the cloud. The software connects to cloud providers such as Microsoft 365 without any need to install anything.
### What does Axcient x360Cloud do?
Axcient x360Cloud enables you to backup your cloud data effortlessly. This includes email items (emails, contacts & calendars), SharePoint, Teams and other Cloud service providers too.
### Why do I need Axcient x360Cloud?
Your Cloud Provider will not restore your data for you. You’ll need it to recover your data in the event of data loss, data theft, ransomware or damage – whether malicious or accidental.
### What data does Axcient x360Cloud help me to protect?
Axcient x360Cloud helps you to protect your data in Microsoft365 – including Exchange Online Items, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, files, folders and document libraries.
### Doesn’t Microsoft do that?
Many organisations understandably assume that Microsoft backs up the data stored in their cloud apps. However, Microsoft’s Services Agreement makes it quite clear that data backups are the user’s responsibility. [We’ve blogged about this here](https://blog.grantmcgregor.co.uk/the-forgotten-risk-of-our-new-wfh-reality).
This means it is important that every organisation that is using Microsoft365 products has a suitable backup and restore solution in place.
### Why should I use Axcient x360Cloud?
Grant McGregor has partnered with Axcient to offer its Axcient x360Cloud backup and restore solution to our customers. We’ve done this because of its strong focus on security.
### What are the advantages of Axcient x360Cloud?
Axcient x360Cloud is really easy to implement and use.
• It’s a simple-to-use but comprehensive way to ensure your essential business data is protected.
• It helps you to secure the data your business holds. This helps you to fulfil your [organisational obligations under GDPR](https://blog.grantmcgregor.co.uk/2019/one-year-on-from-gdpr-whats-changed).
• It’s straightforward to implement and fast to set up.
• All your Microsoft 365 items will be covered.
• It includes a powerful SmartSearch, so you can quickly pinpoint the data you need to restore.
• Restoration is straightforward and fast.
We believe this all adds up to the fact that Axcient x360Cloud should be an essential part of every organisation’s business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) plan.
### Why is this important right now?
Many organisations have switched to cloud solutions to help them facilitate home working and keep their businesses running throughout the pandemic. Now that these new operating procedures have bedded in, now is the time to check that you are following best practice and are adequately protecting your data that resides in these cloud apps.
The coronavirus pandemic has shown us all how important [effective BCDR plans and processes](https://blog.grantmcgregor.co.uk/2017/is-your-disaster-recovery-plan-process-up-to-scratch) are – and Axcient x360Cloud can play an important role in this. In the event of data loss or corruption – for whatever reason – it helps you to ensure your organisation isn’t exposed and that your staff continue to have access to essential data.
### Who should use Axcient x360Cloud?
Grant McGregor is advising all our MSP customers that are using Microsoft365 to implement Axcient x360Cloud, if they don’t already have an adequate cloud backup and restore solution in place.
### Can it help me to protect any other data?
Yes, Axcient x360Cloud offers unlimited storage and retention of all your Microsoft and Google data.
### How much does it cost?
Pricing for Axcient x360Cloud is calculated on a per user basis as it covers SharePoint as well as e.g. a mailbox.
If you’d like more information about rolling out Axcient x360Cloud for your organisation, please get in touch with the Grant McGregor team and we can provide you with an accurate quote.
We’re also on hand, as always, to answer any further questions you may have.
You can reach us on: 0808 164 4142.
At the moment, we’re also offering a free trial of x360Cloud, so you can test out the solution for yourself. Request your free trial here.
